Boxer Curriculum Materials and Tools

Boxer is designed to support and encourage open development of resources and tools. We want to empower educators at any level of technical expertise to modify, extend, or build from scratch. To this end, we very much want to see wide-spread grassroots creation of "materials the live and grow" as they are improved, extended and adapted to local circumstances. As a matter of principle, all materials developed at UC Berkeley are completely open and free of copyright restrictions. We encourage other developers not only to follow this principle, but also to anticipate re-use and extension by making materials (1) that are simple to understand and modify, (2) that are well-documented, and (3) that are openly available.

Curriculum materials

  1. The largest collection of Boxer materials is that which comes with the standard Boxer distribution. You can download a recent version from Mac-Boxer-Documents&Demos.

  2. The Boxer Hub contains references to a number of other materials, in the "MORE BOXES" section. The hub is accessible from Boxer by using the command "open" with the following URL in a data box as input:

The Boxer Hub is also the bottom icon in the box "! Start Exploring Boxer Here !" which comes with Boxer documentation and demos.

  3. A curriculum unit on measuring and modeling motion (by Christopher Hartmann & Jeffrey Choppin) for use at upper elementary or middle school is available here: Measuring & Modeling Motion.
